Debut of Art Culinaire's New Web site - (April 2007)
The Lacanche community now has a place to gather — online! Dedicated to being the finest resource for “all things Lacanche” in the United States, frenchranges.com helps not only serious seekers but also recent and long-time owners of Lacanches nationally. The newly released web site features: earthy, organic and distinctive backgrounds featuring artist Annie Meyer. Her French countryside inspired paintings enhance the new color-rich Lacanche range collection, client profiles and photo galleries. The Owners Forum allows Lacanche owners to exchange experiences and ideas related to usability and design. “Early Arrivals” are pre-ordered popular models that become available as demand and factory production allows.
A Whole Palate of New Lacanche Colors! - (January 2006)
To supplement the traditional French favorites such as Red Bourgogne and Provence Yellow, SIL-Lacanche with the collaboration of interior design and color specialist, Marie-Cecile Augagneur, has expanded their color offering to a total of 16 colors. The new colors, sporting such names as Marron Glace (Chestnut Ice) and Vert Sologne (the greenery surrounding a river in France), inspire "seasonal, fresh and organic" themes congruent with the culinary aspirations of a Lacanche owner. The new offering comes after last year's acquisition of the enameling plant responsible for producing the vibrant Lacanche range colors.
SIL-Lacanche guarantees quality and consistency by purchasing enameling plant - (2005)
To alleviate delays in the production process, maintain color consistency and insure a steady flow of popular Lacanche ranges “in color”, SIL-Lacanche purchased the plant to which they had farmed out all their enameling. Being able to control the color process from start to finish was a large motivation to bring this part of the Lacanche range production in-house.
"Art Culinaire" opens new National Showroom in Woodinville, WA - (2001)
To "ramp up" for the growing demand for Lacanche French Ranges nationwide, Art Culinaire moves to the former site of a winery in Woodinville, WA. The PHK/AC operation relocates from a 700 sq ft office in south Bellevue, WA to a 9000 sq ft combined office, showroom and warehouse nestled next to Little Bear Creek on the outskirts of the small wine-making town, Woodinville, WA. PHK (Professional Home Kitchens) changed its name to reflect the "art of cooking - cookware as art" meaning of their new name - Art Culinaire.
Lacanche Ranges receive UL listing - Distribution starts in USA - (2000)
Different standards for range installations apply for "the Continent" (Europe) and here in "the States". In order to comply with US nationwide standards, Lacanche applies and receives UL listing for an assortment of ranges for the American market, focusing on the models most requested by US owners. Prior to this nationally recognized approval, only the European CE version of Lacanche range was available worldwide, a version not approved for installation in the US.
PHK (Professional Home Kitchens) secures Lacanche US Distribution - (1996)
Professional Home Kitchens (PHK) the original name for the company now known as Art Culinaire, sends staff members "over the pond" to the world's largest appliance show, Domotechnica, held in Cologne, Germany. Originally intended as a venture to secure spare parts for local customers of another French range manufacturer, the biggest event of the trip was meeting up with the export director of Lacanche, Mr. Jean Jacques Augagneur. Very impressed with the distinct function and design of these unique Lacanche "cookers", PHK team members were welcomed and then invited to visit the Lacanche factory (in Burgundy, France) by Mr. Augagneur. Mr. Augagneur, on behalf of SIL Lacanche grants PHK the distribution responsibility for the US to the PHK company.
